Government: Old-Age Law for the private sector suspended
After Prime Minister Omar Razzaz announced Defense Order No. 1 to suspend some provisions of the Social Security Law No. 1 of 2014, the Minister of State for Media Affairs, Amjad Adaileh, announced that the government has suspended the Old-Age Law for the private sector.
In accordance with the provisions of the National Defence Law, Prime Minister Omar Razzaz issued earlier today the Defense Order No. 1 of 2020, which includes suspending some provisions of the Social Security Law No. 1 of 2014 and replacing them with this Order.
In a press statement he made at the National Center for Security and Crisis Management, Razzaz said that this decision was made as Jordan is going through exceptional circumstances, to help the private sector, the main pillar of Jordan's economic and social security, and to maintain the livelihood security of workers and employees.
