Cadres of the Environment Department of the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) began disinfecting streets, stores, waste collection places and vehicles in Amman, as part of measures to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Spokesman for GAM said that sterilization will be carried out regularly twice a day.

Cadres also sprayed bus terminals and public transportation, including six stations that used to serve around 800, 000 people per day before the outbreak.

"Nearly 17,000 means of transportation are sterilized four times a day, starting from 6:00 am, until 10:00 pm," Khalid Abu Alim, Director of the Transportation Operations Department said.
