Health Ministry receives donations to fight COVID-19

Multiple Jordanian companies and institutions announced today donations to the Health Ministry in its efforts to combat the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Donations came from the Jordan Phosphates Mines Company which offered JD300,000, al-Kasih Food Production Company, JD20,000, and regular courts judges who donated JD100,000.

Members of the Lower House of Parliament decided to deduct JD100,000 from their budget to support the Ministry's anti-coronavirus effort. The Senate also said that the Social Responsibility Fund will give JD100,000.

Telecom and Internet provider "Zain" pledged 24 medical beds to the King Abdullah University Hospital in the Irbid لovernorate. The three major telecommunications companies in the Kingdom had earlier announced free browsing for students who will use the Education Ministry's e-learning platform "DARSAK."

The Hikma Pharmaceuticals Company also pledged two million dinars worth of drugs to the Ministry, while the chambers of industry of Jordan, Amman, Irbid and Zarqa collectively donated JD70,000.

The Aqaba Provincial Council also committed JD100,000 to the Ministry.
