Interior Minister, Salameh Hammad met today with Qatari Ambassador Sheikh Saud bin Nasser Al Thani.
During their meeting, Hammad confirmed that the Jordanian-Qatari ties are "robust and deep-rooted. He added that the bilateral relations have witnessed ongoing development with the support of the two countries' leaders and peoples in the economic, political and security fields.
On the regional situation, the minister said the Middle East circumstances call for increasing consultation, coordination and cooperation between the two countries, especially in the security field.
He also called for increasing mutual visits, exchanging information, and training and rehabilitation programs to combat crimes and achieve regional security and stability.
Existing bilateral relations stem from a "great" understanding of various challenges and issues of common concern, as well as sincere positions that continuously nourish ties, Hammad underlined.
He lauded Qatar's supportive position of Jordan in many fields and in all Arab, regional and international forums.
The Qatari envoy, for his part, highlighted his country's keenness to strengthen bilateral relations with Jordan, pointing out the importance of joint partnership and the need to boost it to serve interests of the two countries' peoples.
