Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi welcomed on Tuesday, January 21, Iraqi Parliament Speaker Mohammad Al-Halbousi for a discussion of the steps being taken by the two countries to enhance cooperation, in addition to regional developments and ways of deescalating tension.

Safadi reiterated that Jordan firmly stands by Iraq to safeguard its sovereignty and stability and reassert its victory over ISIS gangs, and also restated the Kingdom's support of Iraq's reconstruction process.

The Iraqi parliament's head valued Jordan's unwavering support of his country, a position that had been reaffirmed by His Majesty King Abdullah II, and stressed Iraq's keenness on cementing relations in all fields.
