The Head of the Sebastia Diocese of the Greek Orthodox Church in Jerusalem Archbishop Atallah Hanna was reportedly hospitalized on Saturday, 21, 2019, after being poisoned by chemical substances.

Reviews stated the Archbishop was rushed to hospital after an Israeli fuel canister was fired into his church in Jerusalem.

The Archbishop has arrived in Jordan today to receive treatment.

Speaking to reporters while receiving treatment at the Jordan Hospital today, Archbishop Hanna held the Israeli occupation accountable for poisoning him.

He added that an institution of the Israeli occupation is the only one to have this chemical substance.

He considered that the Israeli occupation may have attempted to assassinate him or keep him sick all his life, indicating that the substance has very serious effects, especially on the nervous system.

"The Christians of Palestine are one family of Jordanians and Palestinians," he affirmed.

Archbishop Hanna confirmed that he will be receiving treatment in Jordan for the next three days.

He also called on the Muslim and Christian brotherhood to stand firm, considering that the incident targetted the one Palestinian body.

He also delivered a message to the Christian brothers on the occasion of Christmas day, saying "We celebrate the birth of Christ as one family and our enemies want us to be fragmented."

For his part, Dr. Abdullah Al-Bashir, who oversees the health status of Archbishop Hanna said that Hanna is in stable health condition, indicating that further medical examinations will be done.
