A number of doctors demonstrated on Sunday, May 19, 2019, in front of Prince Hamza Hospital in Amman in protest against the repeated attacks on doctors, the most recent of which was on a female doctor.

The Jordan Medical Association (JMA) said that the demonstration is the beginning of a series of measures the JMA would take to put an end to the repeated attacks on doctors.

Participants in the protest stressed that the council of the JMA gives priority to putting an end to these attacks by all possible means.

Doctors also called for imposing the most severe sanctions against anyone who abuses the medical staff in Jordan and destroys hospital property, considering that such attacks constitute a major threat to Jordan's reputation and sovereignty.

The JMA has earlier called on all doctors to take part in the demonstration, except for doctors working at the emergency departments.
