The Director General of the Syrian Investment Authority, Madin Diab, handed the Jordanian parliamentary delegation on Tuesday a portfolio of investment opportunities in his country to be presented to the private sector in Jordan for study.

The head of the Jordanian-Syrian parliamentary brotherhood committee, Tarek Khoury, told Roya that he would present the details of the talks held by the delegation, which also includes MP Qais Ziadeen, to specialists in Jordan to discuss the possibility of investing in Syria.

Khoury and Ziadeen stressed the importance of returning to investment after the dire situation Syria suffered during the past years, expressing their confidence in the ability of Syria to do so. He pointed out that the Jordanian private sector is excited to work in Syria in the investment sector, especially in reconstruction projects.

In this context, Madin Diab said that the investment portfolio is related to the investment environment in Syria in various sectors, and contains opportunities to study, pointing out that Syria needs to invest in several sectors, especially in reconstruction, agriculture and technology.

In another meeting with Syrian Electricity Minister Mohammad Zuhair Kharbotli, the delegation discussed the details of the energy sector and the importance of cooperation in this field between the two countries.

The two delegations offered the Syrian minister the possibility of Jordan supplying Lebanon and Iraq via the Syrian networks, and promised Kharbotli to study the technical situation.
