The government will withdraw the cybercrime bill, referred by the previous government to the Lower House of Parliament, at the request of the House Speaker, Atef Tarawneh.

The decision comes in response to demands of the representatives of various sectors, professional unions, party and civil society organizations, expressed their meeting with Prime Minister, Omar Razzaz.

Minister of State for Media Affairs and Government Spokesperson, Jumana Ghneimat, stated on December, 9, 2018, that the government will revise the cybercrime bill and present a new version.

Ghneimat said that the government will reconsider the revised bill together with the concerned authorities and a number of experts and specialists and then return it to the House of Representatives.
