PM Omar Razzaz said in a meeting on Sunday that restoring security and stability in Syria and reopening the border with them is a positive sign that Jordan’s economy is about to flourish.

Razzaz was adamant that “Jordan, Syria and Iraq need to cement their economic relations.”

The PM noted that both the private and public sectors agree on the challenges and obstacles faced by the industrial sector, stressing the importance of supporting this sector to enable it to continue working.

Razzaz was clear that Jordan’s economy can’t grow without paying more attention to the exporting of Jordanian products. He said that attention needs to paid to their quality by making it top notch, in order to be able to compete in the international market.

Finally, Razzaz said that his government is aware that something needs to be done when it comes to the number of expats working in the country versus the number of unemployed citizens.
