Jordanian Prime Minister Hani al-Mulki will not be undergoing surgery in the US as rumored, according to Al Ghad newspaper.

The PM had travelled to the US for medical tests on Saturday, but his results have reportedly shown that he will not be needing surgery.

The same source told Al Ghad that al-Mulki will be returning to Amman to continue his treatment at the King Hussein Medical Center.

Last week, following the news that he would be taking ten days off to receive treatment in the US, al-Mulki said:

“Everything is good, there are no problems, I will undergo a simple examination before I come back again to serve all of you,” al-Mulki said in a video published by Khaberni on Facebook.

“I am mostly upset for leaving the country and leaving those whom I enjoy serving,” he added.
