The Family Protection Department (FPD) saved a six-year-old girl’s life, who was being physically tortured by her mother in Russeifa, in the Zarqa Governorate.

In collaboration with the Public Security Directorate, the FPD followed up on a tip they had received about the abusive parent from a social media user, who contacted Roya on Facebook with their suspicions about the mother.

The Facebook user said that the child was forbidden from continuing kindergarten, even though she was a “smart kid.”

A security source said that the FPD also received complaints from the child’s concerned neighbour about the mother’s monstrous treatment of her daughter.

An investigation is currently underway while the child remains in protective custody for the fourth day in a row.
