The Agricultural Affairs Committee of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce has recommended providing alternative foreign markets for Jordanian agricultural products and reducing the air freight prices for the sector's exports.

The committee also recommended a reduction in prices of agricultural materials and supplies in addition to reducing the prices of water and electricity to support the farms.

It was also recommended that the government address an emergency fund to study and assist farmers affected by natural disasters, cooperate with the Jordanian Farmers Union and the Association of Exporters of Vegetables and Fruits to reach effective solutions to the challenges facing the agricultural sector.

The issue of high prices of agricultural materials such as fertilizers, plastic, agricultural and other packaging was also raised, with the committee noting the high prices are incompatible with the income of farms, particularly in addition to the lack of manpower. This is further intensified by the high prices of permits for migrant workers, which leads to higher production costs.
