The Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) foiled an attempt to smuggle almost five tonnes of nuts from one of Jordan’s districts to Amman, along the Dead Sea road.

The large boxes, filled with all kinds of nuts, were discreetly hidden inside a Paver, that construction truck that lays tar on the road.

Roya Arabic reporter who was with AND at the time of the incident said that they found four tonnes and 300 KG of cashews and pine nuts inside the large vehicle.

The nuts and truck driver are currently in AND’s custody until legal action has been taken against them.
