For the second day in a row, people in Ramtha district of Irbid have protested on Saturday, August 24, 2019, against the government's new amendments on the smuggling law.

Although it was agreed to end all forms of protest and escalation in the area, tens of people continued protesting by throwing stones at security vehicles at the Ramtha roundabout, where a large number of gendarmes were at the roundabout.

However, gendarmerie machinery caught fire after protestors threw Molotov cocktails at it, spokesman for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said.
