The next time you’re at Queen Alia International Airport, besides indulging in Duty Free, you will be able to pop into the Civil Status and Passports Department’s newest branch, located in the heart of the airport.

Fawwaz Al Shahwan, the department’s GM, announced the news on Tuesday, adding that the branch will open its doors on Wednesday.

For now, Jordanians will be able to renew their passports or issue new ones at the airport branch, while more services will be provided at a later time, according to Shahwan.

The office’s opening hours will be split into two shifts, split between 8am and 10:30pm (local time).

Queen Alia International Airport is Jordan’s main airport. In the first quarter of 2017, the airport received 1,671,784 passengers - a 2.0% increase from the first quarter of 2016, according to Airport International Group.
