Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa met with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman on Wednesday at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh, holding high-level discussions on strengthening bilateral cooperation and addressing regional developments.

According to a statement released by the Syrian presidency, the talks focused on advancing relations across multiple sectors and exchanging assessments on pressing regional and international issues, with both leaders emphasizing the critical need to bolster regional peace, security, and stability.

Syria's President al-Sharaa arrived earlier Wednesday on an official visit to the Kingdom, marking his sixth trip to Saudi Arabia since taking office.

The Syrian leader was received at King Khalid International Airport by Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Riyadh Region, alongside other Saudi dignitaries, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

The Syrian delegation featured key cabinet members and security chiefs, including the ministers of foreign affairs and expatriates, defense, finance, and industry, along with the head of the General Intelligence Directorate.

Wednesday's summit follows a previous high-level meeting between the two leaders in Riyadh on October 6, during which discussions centered on strategic roadmaps for Syria’s post-war reconstruction and the rehabilitation of key public infrastructure and services.

Al-Sharaa had also extended a formal invitation to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to visit Syria.

Economic and industrial integration featured prominently in the lead-up to the summit.

On the eve of the visit, Syrian Minister of Industry and Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Basel Abdul Hannan held talks with Saudi Ambassador to Damascus Ghazi bin Rafea al-Anzi to review a draft memorandum of understanding.

The proposed framework aims to enhance industrial zones, optimize production standards, and facilitate joint financing initiatives for industrial projects.
