The Kremlin confirmed on Tuesday that Abu Dhabi will host trilateral negotiations between Russia and Ukraine mediated by the United States on November 10 and 11, in a renewed diplomatic effort to bring an end to the four-year war.

US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff had earlier announced the upcoming meeting dates.

Witkoff held discussions last month with both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, with all sides indicating that trilateral discussions would resume in November as Washington exerts diplomatic pressure to halt the war.

"A Russian delegation will indeed head to Abu Dhabi on November 10 and 11 and will participate in the trilateral negotiations," Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Tuesday.

Russian negotiator Vladimir Medinsky is slated to lead Moscow's delegation once again, having headed previous similar rounds held earlier this year that failed to yield a diplomatic breakthrough.

Medinsky, 56, a former culture minister known for his nationalist perspective on Russian history, took part in the initial talks between Moscow and Kyiv at the beginning of the war in 2022.

He also led the Russian delegations during subsequent negotiations held in Istanbul last year and in Geneva earlier this year.
