- Iran's army warns that any new US attack would trigger an immediate and more extensive response.
- Tehran says a future conflict could last longer than previous wars and extend beyond West Asia.
Iran’s army spokesperson, Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia, has warned that any new war with the United States could spread beyond West Asia and last significantly longer than previous conflicts.
Akraminia said any new US attack would be met with an immediate and extensive military response.
“Any new attacks by the US will be met with an immediate, crushing response that is even more extensive than in the past,” he said in remarks carried by Iranian state-run media.
The army spokesperson warned that the geographical scope of any future conflict would not be limited to West Asia.
“Should a new war erupt, the geography of the conflict will not be confined to the West Asia region,” Akraminia said.
He added that any potential future war could prove significantly longer than previous conflicts.
Akraminia also stressed that Iran’s military doctrine had shifted away from a purely defensive approach.
“Our doctrine began moving from a purely defensive stance towards an offensive approach some time ago,” he said.
