Two Palestinian infants, four-month-old Habiba Zannoun and seven-month-old Aysel Abu Suhaiban, have died after a fire tore through a displacement tent in the coastal Mawasi area of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.
Reporting on the incident, Palestinian journalist Hani Alshaer stated that displaced Palestinians are taking refuge in tightly clustered tents that lack the most basic elements of safety and protection.
He noted that ongoing 'Israeli' restrictions on the entry of fuel and cooking gas have forced families to resort to primitive and dangerous methods to ignite fires for cooking and heating under severe living conditions.
