US President Donald Trump interrupted his remarks at a midterm campaign rally on Thursday evening to confront protesters, telling one: “Shut up, dope. Shut up, loser — WHAT A LOSER!”
The exchange occurred at the Ocean Center during an early portion of Trump’s speech as he discussed enthusiasm for the upcoming elections.
Three protesters disrupted the event in quick succession.

After the third interruption, Trump stopped mid-sentence, pointed toward the individual, and delivered the rebuke.
He added that the disruptions consistently targeted his “punchlines,” saying the interrupters were “losers” who risked leaving the impression that he was a poor speaker.
Security removed the protesters as the crowd responded with chants of support, including “We love Trump!”
The official White House Rapid Response account later shared video of the moment, describing the interrupters as “Radical Left paid protesters.”
The Daytona Beach event was Trump’s second Florida rally in a week and part of a broader series of appearances in Republican-leaning states in the final days before the Nov. 3 midterm elections.
Similar interruptions have occurred at other recent Trump rallies, including in South Carolina, Ohio, North Carolina, Kansas, Mississippi, and Texas.
In those instances, Trump has repeatedly described the hecklers as paid or trained agitators—sometimes claiming they receive $250—and has called them “losers,” “dopes,” or criticized their appearance.
The pattern of disruptions has become a recurring feature of Trump’s late-campaign schedule as he campaigns for Republican candidates.
