Pakistan's military spokesperson Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said Islamabad is committed to defending Saudi Arabia but is not involved in the ongoing conflict in Yemen.
"We are not part of the Yemeni conflict, which is an intra-Yemen conflict," Chaudhry, director general of Inter-Services Public Relations, told Reuters.
He stressed that Pakistan remains committed to defending Saudi Arabia and the holy cities of Mecca and Medina.
Chaudhry said the deployment of additional Pakistani troops to Saudi Arabia would depend on developments on the ground and decisions by the political leadership of both countries.
His remarks come amid heightened regional tensions and growing security concerns surrounding Yemen and the Arabian Peninsula.
