  • Oman's Royal Air Force evacuated an injured crew member from an Indian boat targeted in the Strait of Hormuz.
  • The evacuation follows a separate operation in which the Royal Navy rescued 25 crew members from a commercial vessel that caught fire after being targeted off Musandam.

Oman's Royal Air Force evacuated an injured crew member from an Indian boat that came under attack in the Strait of Hormuz, the Omani Armed Forces General Staff announced Friday.

In a statement posted on X, the General Staff's Moral Guidance Directorate said the Royal Air Force, in coordination with relevant authorities, carried out a medical evacuation of one crew member aboard the targeted boat.

The injured individual was airlifted from Khasab Hospital in Musandam Governorate to Khoula Hospital in Muscat Governorate for specialized medical treatment, the statement added.

The evacuation came hours after Oman's Royal Navy rescued 25 crew members from a commercial vessel that was targeted and caught fire off the coast of Musandam.

The rescue operation involved evacuating the vessel's entire crew, according to the Omani Navy.

The two incidents highlight growing maritime security concerns in and around the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic waterway for international shipping and global energy supplies.

Note: Omani authorities did not identify those responsible for targeting either vessel.
