Voter turnout in the ‘Israeli’ Knesset elections reached 74.3% by 8 p.m. local time on Tuesday, October 27, according to the Central Elections Committee.

The committee said turnout was eight percentage points higher than in the previous election, making it the highest recorded since the 1988 elections.

The figures indicate a significant increase in voter participation, with turnout drawing particular attention as political parties compete for seats in the 120-member Knesset.

The elevated participation comes amid intense competition between political blocs seeking to secure enough parliamentary seats to form the next government.

Turnout among Palestinian Arab voters has also become a focus of political debate, with far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich describing participation in Arab communities as “unprecedented” and urging right-wing supporters to cast their ballots.

Polling stations are scheduled to close at 10 p.m. local time. Voters already waiting in line at closing time will be allowed to cast their ballots, according to the Central Elections Committee.

The final turnout figure will provide a clearer picture of participation once voting concludes.
