‘Israel’s’ Joint List has accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of using an allegedly fabricated, AI-generated image to exaggerate voter turnout among Arab citizens during Knesset elections.
Arab lawmaker Ahmad Tibi said participation in Jewish communities remained significantly higher than in Arab towns, contradicting the impression conveyed by Netanyahu’s social media message.
Netanyahu posted the image on X, showing people gathered outside a polling station, and claimed it depicted Arab voters in Rahat, a city in southern ‘Israel’.
זה מה שקורה היום ברהט. אסור לכם להישאר בבית. צאו דחוף להצביע מחל. אנחנו במלחמה על הבית! https://t.co/vjcWOuHUIz

“This is what is happening today in Rahat. You cannot stay at home. Go out immediately and vote for Likud. We are fighting for our homeland,” Netanyahu wrote.
The Joint List accused Netanyahu of using the image to create an exaggerated impression of Arab participation and encourage further voting.
Tibi challenged the message, arguing that turnout figures in Jewish communities remained considerably higher than those in Arab towns.
The allegations raise questions about the authenticity of the image circulated by Netanyahu. However, independent verification establishing that the image was generated by artificial intelligence was not provided in the available information.
The controversy comes as voter participation remains a key factor in the election, with political parties seeking to mobilize their respective constituencies.
