  • The strike hit directly within the campus grounds of the Islamic University of Gaza
  • Initial reports and emerging footage indicate the strike hit an area where a group of students had gathered

Online footage shows an 'Israeli' airstrike targeting the grounds of the Islamic University of Gaza, striking a group of students inside the campus perimeter.

The strikes left at least three people dead and several others injured, according to local sources.

The incident began when an initial 'Israeli' drone strike hit a gathering of students inside the university grounds in western Gaza City, wounding more than five people, several of whom were in critical condition. Shortly after, a second drone strike targeted the southwestern sector of the campus perimeter, killing three people and inflicting further injuries.

Emergency medical teams and civilian volunteers mobilized quickly on the scene to evacuate the wounded to nearby healthcare facilities for urgent medical care.

The Islamic University of Gaza is among the largest higher education institutions in the Palestinian enclave. Sunday's strikes have brought renewed attention to the risks confronting educational infrastructure, students, and academic personnel across the territory amid prolonged warfare that has damaged numerous schools and universities.
