Jordan's Public Security Directorate (PSD) announced that its Cybercrime Unit has been actively monitoring social media platforms following the terrorist attack in Karak Governorate to tackle online abuse, hate speech, and security breaches.

The media spokesperson for the PSD stated that specialized technical teams began monitoring digital platforms from the first moments of the incident, focusing on posts and comments that violate the privacy and dignity of martyrs and injured victims, interfere with investigative procedures, or attempt to incite sectarian divisions and undermine societal peace.

Security authorities confirmed that a number of individuals involved in publishing non-compliant content have already been identified, and law enforcement teams are currently working to apprehend them.

The PSD spokesperson reiterated that law enforcement will exercise zero tolerance toward any online violations, emphasizing that severe legal and judicial proceedings will be initiated against offenders.

Authorities highlighted that legal accountability applies not only to original authors but also to anyone who reshares or engages with content that threatens social harmony or defames victims.

The directorate urged the public to act responsibly on digital media and rely exclusively on official state channels for verified news and updates regarding the Karak investigation.
