  • The airline said all other passengers and crew members were safe, with no additional injuries reported.
  • The aircraft will undergo precautionary technical inspections before returning to service.
  • FlyAden also cancelled its Dammam–Aden flight and flights from Jeddah and Dammam scheduled for Thursday, October 22, citing emergency operational circumstances.

Yemen’s FlyAden airline said early Thursday that a passenger suffered a minor shrapnel injury after one of its flights arrived at King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, according to an initial assessment of the incident.

The airline said the remaining passengers and crew were safe and that no other injuries had been reported at the time of its statement. Its teams were coordinating with airport management and relevant authorities to monitor the situation and ensure the injured passenger received the necessary care.

The aircraft will undergo precautionary technical inspections to verify its safety and airworthiness before resuming operations, the airline added.

In a separate notice, FlyAden announced the cancellation of its Dammam–Aden flight, along with flights scheduled to operate from Jeddah and Dammam on Thursday, Oct. 22. The airline said it was contacting affected passengers to inform them of available booking arrangements and options.

The cancellations come after an attack at King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, which Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation said targeted the airport on Wednesday evening, Oct. 21. The incident occurred amid a broader escalation of attacks targeting Saudi Arabia, including drone and missile interceptions reported by the Saudi-led coalition.

FlyAden said passenger and crew safety remained its top priority and pledged to share further confirmed updates through its official channels.
