A US Air Force F-35 fighter jet operating near the strategic Strait of Hormuz transmitted an emergency transponder code before changing course toward the United Arab Emirates.

Flightradar24, an open-source flight tracking platform, showed the fifth-generation stealth aircraft broadcasting transponder signal 7600 while flying in international airspace near the Gulf region.

In standard aviation protocols, code 7600 specifically indicates a two-way radio communications failure between the pilot and air traffic control authorities.

Following the signal transmission, the aircraft altered its route and proceeded toward Al Dhafra Air Base in the United Arab Emirates to initiate landing procedures.

Military officials have not issued a detailed public statement regarding the cause of the communication disruption, and no damage or injury was reported during the diversion.
