An 'Israeli' television broadcast covering protests in France featured an interviewee who pretended to be an Arab resident, but was later revealed to be an 'Israeli' tourist.

Reporting live from Paris for i24NEWS, correspondent Neria Kraus conducted a street interview with a passerby who identified himself as "Ali," claiming his parents were originally from Baghdad.

In his comments regarding the unrest, the individual referred to those causing damage as "radicals," claiming that "they don't care, they just want to destroy," describing their actions as "terrible."

The man also criticized local demonstrators, stated that "Israel was right," and questioned the presence of Palestinian flags in protests across the French capital.

However, shorty after the segment aired, the interviewee uploaded the footage to his Instagram account, identifying himself as Hezi Gangina, an 'Israeli' residing in the Kfar Shalem neighborhood of Tel Aviv.

In his social media post, Gangina explained that he had "intentionally" misled the reporter, saying "it was boring on the broken streets of Paris, so I trolled her that I'm an Arab named Ali," adding, "she was looking to interview a Frenchman in Paris and fell on Hezi Gangina from Kfar Shalem."
