  • US President Donald Trump publicly endorsed Benjamin Netanyahu for reelection, tying his support to the confrontation with Iran.
  • Trump warned that an Israeli leader other than Netanyahu would leave the United States to handle the conflict with Iran itself.

US President Donald Trump publicly endorsed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for reelection on Sunday, marking his first public endorsement of Netanyahu in the current election campaign, according to Israeli media.

In a lengthy social media post addressed to the "Great People of ‘Israel’," Trump praised Netanyahu as a "Great Warrior Prime Minister" and a partner in pursuing peace, arguing that his leadership had been central to confronting Iran.

"Please let this Letter serve to represent my Complete and Total Endorsement of Bibi Netanyahu in his upcoming Race for Re-Election as Prime Minister of ‘Israel’," Trump wrote.

Netanyahu thanked Trump shortly afterward for his support.

Trump framed his endorsement around the conflict with Iran, accusing Tehran of threatening ‘Israel’ and the United States for decades. He cited the Iranian regime's slogans, "Death to ‘Israel’, Death to America," and argued that Iran would eventually have acted on those threats if its military and financial capabilities had not been weakened.

Trump claimed that Iran had been "systematically destroyed, both Militarily and Financially," and warned that the United States and ‘Israel’ would continue their campaign if Tehran did not change course.

"Unless Iran rapidly changes course, we will soon finish the job," he wrote.

Trump also linked Netanyahu's political future to Washington's approach toward Iran, warning that a different prime minister could shift responsibility for the conflict onto the United States.

"If ‘Israel’ has the wrong Leader, which would be anyone other than Bibi, America will have to do this work ourselves, and I am not inclined to do so," Trump wrote.

He praised Netanyahu as "Strong, Brave, and Brilliant," claiming the prime minister had withstood significant political pressure and emerged stronger.

"BIBI NETANYAHU WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!" Trump concluded.

The endorsement represents an explicit intervention by a sitting US president in ‘Israel’s’ election campaign, with Trump placing Netanyahu's leadership at the center of continued US-'Israeli' cooperation against Iran.

The remarks also underscore the close relationship between the two leaders and the role of Iran policy in their political partnership.
