Saudi Civil Defense said Wednesday that debris from an intercepted ballistic missile injured a resident and caused “limited property damage” in the capital, Riyadh.

The missile was launched by Yemen’s Houthi group and intercepted and destroyed, the Civil Defense spokesperson said in a statement.

The falling debris injured a resident of Arab nationality and caused limited damage to a residential house and a vehicle.

The incident comes amid an escalation in Houthi missile and drone attacks targeting Saudi Arabia.

Saudi authorities have reported additional interceptions and damage caused by falling missile debris in Riyadh in recent days.
