Jerry Seinfeld’s Chicago performance was interrupted by pro-Palestine activists, who accused the comedian of racism and supporting genocide, prompting sarcastic replies from the stage.

Jewish-American comedian Jerry Seinfeld faced multiple disruptions during his stand-up set at the Chicago Theatre over the weekend.

Activists from groups including the United States Palestine Coalition-Chicago and Anti-War Committee Chicago stood up and shouted accusations tied to the Gaza war and the situation in Gaza.

Footage of the interruptions, shared by the activist groups, quickly circulated online.

One male protester yelled: “Seinfeld! Seinfeld, listen to me! You’re a racist! There are 74,000 dead Palestinians. Seventy-four thousand Palestinians have been killed by the racist State of Israel.”

He continued, “Seinfeld, you will see. Palestine will be free.”

Seinfeld mockingly replied, “I am a racist,” and later told the heckler he would determine the cost of the ticket and send that amount to ‘Israel’.

A female activist later interrupted a bit about Seinfeld’s frustration with cell service, declaring something to the effect of “I’ve had enough of genocide” and citing figures of Palestinian deaths, including claims of 22,000 children killed “with our taxpayer money,” while accusing him of making jokes amid the violence and calling him a “genocide apologist.”

Seinfeld responded sarcastically: “I’m racist. It’s a genocide, I’m into it.”

As security escorted her out, he added that he would find out the ticket price and send the money to ‘Israel’, before joking that he would keep it instead.

He also danced on stage during the removal.

The confrontations were not the first for Seinfeld, a longtime outspoken supporter who has publicly stood with ‘Israel’ and visited after the events of October 7, 2023.

He has previously responded to similar heckling with humor, once telling an audience he loved “a little Jew hatred to spice up a show” and on another occasion suggesting protesters had effectively given money to a Jewish performer.
