  • Coalition confirmed strikes on central fuel reserves in Sanaa and offloading docks in Hodeidah, Sanaa, and Dhamar
  • Authorities stated precautions were taken under International Humanitarian Law to protect civilians while demanding an immediate halt to Houthi attacks

The Joint Forces Command of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen announced in an official press statement on Tuesday that it conducted a qualitative military operation to neutralize vital supply sources feeding the military capabilities of the Houthis.

Official Spokesman for the Coalition Forces, Maj. Gen. Turki Al-Malki, stated that investigations claimed the Houthis used systematically civilian assets and vital energy resources to sustain its war effort.

Al-Malki detailed that the targeted facilities included the central Al-Sabaha fuel station in Sanaa, reserve underground fuel storage tanks, and dedicated oil offloading docks in Hodeidah, Sanaa, and Dhamar, resources utilized directly by the Houthis to back its military operations.

Countering maritime threats

The Coalition spokesman claimed that the Houthi's diversion of fuel resources deprived the Yemeni population of legitimate access to energy for essential needs.

Instead, these sites were repurposed to fuel the group's missile and drone arsenals, directly threatening Saudi Arabia, commercial shipping lanes, ports, and international sea lines of communication in the Red Sea, the Coalition alleged.

Al-Malki claimed that the operation focused on disabling capacities used by the Houthis to launch attacks against civilian objects in Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and the Southern Red Sea.

He affirmed the Coalition's strict commitment to International Humanitarian Law, highlighting that all necessary operational precautions were implemented during planning and execution to avoid civilian casualties or collateral damage.

The statement concluded with a demand for the Houthis to immediately cease all military operations targeting civilians and civilian objects, including airports, ports, oil facilities, and public infrastructure.
