Iran’s top security official claimed Sunday that the United States has accepted some of Tehran’s seven conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz but that Washington’s overall response remains “Inadequate”.

Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, posted on X: “The U.S. has agreed to some of Iran’s seven conditions, but we consider its response INADEQUATE. Iranian diplomacy has changed and there will be no return to the status quo ante.”

In remarks carried by Iranian state media, Rezaei said the United States had replied via intermediaries after Tehran submitted the conditions.

“They have accepted some of our conditions while some others’ situation remains unclear and there exist some ambiguities,” he said.

Iran would not reopen the strategic waterway or enter negotiations until the conditions are fully met, he added.

The seven conditions, conveyed earlier through Qatar and other mediators, center on ending hostilities “on all fronts,” releasing frozen Iranian assets, lifting the US naval blockade, removing sanctions, and related security and economic demands.
