Former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson joined US President Donald Trump for a public appearance at the White House on Friday before traveling alongside the president to a midterm campaign rally at the Oncenter in Syracuse, New York.

Speaking briefly to reporters on the South Lawn and in the White House briefing room, Tyson stated that he was called by the president to accompany him to New York and voiced confidence in Trump's political prospects heading into the upcoming midterm elections. "I think Donald Trump will win," Tyson told reporters.

The joint appearance highlights an endorsement rooted in a relationship that spans over four decades, originating in the mid-1980s when Trump's Atlantic City casinos hosted major heavyweight title fights involving "Iron Mike".

Tyson praised Trump's resilience and personal loyalty, emphasizing that his support stems from personal experience rather than partisan alignment.

"My whole experience with US President Trump is that he's just a genuine, real person," Tyson noted during recent interviews. "If he got your back, he's with you 100%."

The White House visit comes shortly after Tyson revealed in a media interview that he had delivered a letter to US President Trump at the request of music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs, who is currently serving a 50-month federal prison sentence.

Tyson confirmed he fulfilled the request to pass along the message, though no details were provided regarding any official response.
