Turkey projected the Palestinian flag onto Istanbul’s historic Galata Tower, Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy said, describing the display as a message of solidarity with Palestinians.
In a post on social media, Ersoy said the projection was intended to ensure that events in Gaza were not forgotten and to highlight what he described as the oppression of the Palestinian people.
“Ensuring that what is happening in Gaza is not forgotten and refusing to remain silent in the face of the oppression suffered by the Palestinian people are shared responsibilities of humanity,” Ersoy said.
He added that Türkiye would continue to advocate peace and fairness, calling for a future in which Palestinian children could live safely and families would not be displaced from their homes.
