2 hours ago|The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has strongly condemned an aerial strike on two contracted humanitarian trucks in Sudan's South Kordofan state, which resulted in the death of one driver on Saturday.
The attack occurred during the early hours of October 3 as the vehicles, “marked as humanitarian vehicles,” were traveling from Dilling to Kadugli, the agency said.
WFP expressed condolences to the driver's family and noted that investigation into the incident and cargo damage remains ongoing.
The fatal strike follows an incident just one day prior in which another WFP truck struck an explosive device in Dilling after completing a food delivery, as stated by WFP.
