Prominent Palestinian lawmaker Ahmad Tibi and far-right ‘Israeli’ National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir clashed outside the Supreme Court, with Ben-Gvir shouting "support of terror" at the Arab representatives and threatened to remove them from the Knesset, Tibi fired back, warning Ben-Gvir that "every dog has its day."

The clash unfolded in Jerusalem as a nine-judge panel convened inside to consider appeals challenging the disqualification of major Arab political slates and candidates ahead of the October 27 Knesset elections.

The high-stakes Supreme Court session follows a September 23 ruling by the Central Elections Committee that barred key Arab factions and politicians from competing.

Disqualified slates and individuals include the Joint List led by Yousef Jabareen, the United Arab List (Ra'am) headed by Mansour Abbas, former MP Sami Abou Shehadeh, and Joint List lawmaker Ofer Cassif.

Under ‘Israeli’ electoral law, individual disqualifications require Supreme Court ratification, and the high court has historically overturned committee bans against Arab lists in previous election cycles.
