  • Ynet retracted its unconfirmed report alleging Netanyahu met regional representatives in Abu Dhabi.
  • Jordan dismissed claims that its officials attended the alleged meeting as electioneering falsehoods.

A senior Saudi official has denied reports that a representative from the Kingdom met with 'Israeli' Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his recent official trip to the United Arab Emirates, Reuters reported.

The clarification comes in direct response to a report published by the news site Ynet, which asserted that Netanyahu had held discussions with Middle Eastern officials, including a Saudi representative, while visiting the UAE.

Ynet retracts claim

Following its initial publication, Ynet issued a formal correction retracting the assertion.

The news outlet, which originally ran the report without citing a source, stated that it was unable to confirm whether such a meeting actually took place.

In addition to Saudi Arabia's refutation, officials in Jordan also issued a firm denial.

The original Ynet report had claimed that Jordanian representatives were in attendance at the alleged meeting alongside officials from Morocco and other unnamed Middle Eastern countries.
