An eighth-grade student carried out a fatal knife attack at a primary school in Slovakia, killing a teacher and injuring two others on Tuesday morning, according to the Slovak news agency TASR.

The incident occurred at approximately 07:00 GMT inside the school premises. Slovak police stated that a 13-year-old boy was the suspect of the attack and is currently being investigated.

Speaking at a press conference following the event, Interior Minister Matúš Šutaj Eštok confirmed that the attack resulted in the death of one teacher. A second teacher sustained injuries but is in stable condition, while an injured female student remains in critical condition.

The case has been transferred to the Office for Combating Organised Crime (UBOK) for further investigation. Minister Šutaj Eštok declined to comment on potential motives, stating that the inquiry remains ongoing.
