A man was caught on CCTV attempting to urinate on the outer wall of St. James Monastery in Jerusalem’s Armenian Quarter, according to footage from Sep. 26.
The incident occurred at around 10:31 p.m. at the monastery, a key site for the Armenian Patriarchate.
The footage shows the man approaching the outer wall before attempting to urinate on it. A guard then confronted him and directed him to leave the area.
The incident comes amid a pattern of reported harassment targeting the Armenian community in Jerusalem.
Local journalist Kegham Balian said six religious Jewish men were arrested in August 2026 in connection with incidents involving spitting, stone-throwing and banging on the monastery’s gates.
Balian also expressed exhaustion over what he described as repeated targeting of the Armenian community.
