UAE says president met with ‘Israeli’ PM Netanyahu on Sunday: official media

UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed met with ‘Israeli’ Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the UAE on Sunday, official news agency WAM said, confirming earlier media reports from Hebrew media about the meeting.

"The two sides discussed bilateral relations between the UAE and Israel and ways to strengthen and develop them," the statement added.

Netanyahu’s office also confirmed the reports, saying he discussed the region as delicate US-backed diplomacy takes place on Iran.

"The visit focused on strengthening relations between the two countries and on regional challenges," the prime minister's office said in a statement on X.
