Yemen's Houthi movement said on Wednesday it had shot down a reconnaissance drone as it flew over the city of Mocha in Taiz governorate.

Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said the drone had been carrying out "hostile" missions in the area before it was intercepted.

"It was targeted using an appropriate weapon," Saree said in a brief statement.
