Japan issues emergency alert after North Korean ballistic missile launch

The Prime Minister's Office of Japan issued an emergency alert following the detection of a suspected ballistic missile launch by North Korea.

In an official statement released by the Prime Minister's Office, the Japanese government outlined three primary directives issued by the Prime Minister in response to the test:

• Authorities have been directed to dedicate maximum effort to gathering and analyzing intelligence regarding the launch, ensuring timely and accurate information is released to the public.
• Directives were issued to confirm and ensure the safety of all aircraft, maritime vessels, and other assets operating in the region.
• The government instructed all relevant agencies to take all necessary precautionary measures, maintaining full readiness for any potential contingencies.

The launch marks the latest in a series of weapons tests by Pyongyang, prompting immediate surveillance and monitoring responses from Japanese defense authorities and regional allies. 

Government agencies continue to assess the projectile's flight path, altitude, and landing zone.
