A scathing post
Jethro said he was "ashamed" of his cousin and claimed that fans were finally seeing the real Ed. He also said he doesn't like Sheeran's music and so couldn't call him a good artist.
Describing himself as Sheeran's first blood cousin, Jethro called the singer "selfish" and said he has "malicious, cunning ways." He alleged that Sheeran "screwed" him over and made fun of his mental health, and of mental health in general. He also claimed that when they were younger he looked out for Sheeran and introduced him to music, but that Sheeran only cared about himself.
Jethro rejected Macklemore's account that stadium owners pressured Sheeran into the decision. In his view, Sheeran made the call himself, and he described his cousin as "shady" and a "coward."
He also accused Sheeran of promoting a "fake narrative" designed to keep everyone happy so he can continue landing big private gigs and brand deals.
Jethro said he agrees with the criticism and bad press Sheeran has received, and warned that the singer is "calculated and cruel." He framed all of it as his own opinion based on personal experience, adding that he speaks as family.
Ed Sheeran has not issued any comment in response.

The Macklemore controversy
Jethro's post comes days after Macklemore was removed from the Loop Tour. The rapper had shouted "Free Palestine" onstage during a recent show, which drew backlash.
Macklemore, whose real name is Benjamin Hammond Haggerty, later addressed the firing himself. He claimed that New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft pressured Sheeran to drop him over his political stance. The Kraft Group owns and operates Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, and according to Macklemore, Kraft rallied other stadium owners, who together gave Sheeran an ultimatum.
