Preliminary ship-tracking data released Thursday shows commodity vessel transits through the Strait of Hormuz collapsed to just three ships on Wednesday, Reuters reported..
That figure marks a sharp drop from the 12 vessels that passed through the waterway a day earlier, and is well below the 10-day average of roughly 17 transits per day.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most critical chokepoints for commodity shipping, making any sudden decline in traffic through it a closely watched signal.
