'Israeli' Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz claimed in a joint statement that 'Israeli' military units carried out an airstrike targeting the commander of Hamas’ Rafah Brigade in the southern Gaza Strip.

The allegations came after 'Israeli' forces and security agencies conducted targeted operational strikes in the area aimed at senior leadership.

In their joint release, Netanyahu and Katz framed the strike as part of a sustained campaign targeting the high command of the group.

"The Israeli military has just struck the commander of Hamas' Rafah Brigade, after the commander of the Khan Younis Brigade and other senior members of the organization were eliminated earlier this week," the statement claimed.

The joint statement underlined the 'Israeli' government's mandate regarding ongoing military operations across the Gaza Strip.

Netanyahu and Katz alleged that 'Israeli' security forces will continue pursuing high-value targets regardless of location.

"Our message is clear: no element is immune, and Hamas will not remain in Gaza," the officials alleged.
