Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait condemn Iranian attacks on Jordan

• The four countries said the strikes, which targeted Jordan, constituted a threat to regional peace. 

Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Kuwait each issued statements Wednesday condemning Iran's latest ballistic missile strikes on Jordan.

The Jordanian Armed Forces said Jordan came under a missile attack from Iranian territory overnight, with 20 ballistic missiles launched toward the kingdom; 18 were intercepted and two landed away from populated areas.

No deaths were reported, the statement added. 

Qatar

Qatar's foreign ministry stated, in a post on X, that it condemns "the renewal of Iran's attacks on Jordan" and considers them “a violation of sovereignty and a breach of international law”. The ministry said continued attacks would complicate efforts to contain tensions and undermine diplomatic efforts.

The statement said Qatar holds Iran "fully legally responsible" for the strikes and their consequences, and called for a halt to military operations that it said threaten regional security and stability.

Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement describing the Iranian attacks on Jordan as “unjustified and blatant”. The ministry characterized the strikes as a violation of international law and of the principle of good-neighborly relations.

Saudi Arabia said it stands in solidarity with Jordan and supports measures Jordan takes in response to the attacks, and called for an immediate halt to the strikes and for steps toward “regional security and stability.”

Kuwait

Kuwait's foreign ministry said the missile strikes on Jordan are a “flagrant” violation of Jordan's sovereignty and territorial integrity and a threat to regional security and stability”.

The ministry called for a halt to the attacks, prioritizing de-escalation and dialogue, and said Kuwait stands in full solidarity with Jordan and supports measures Jordan takes to protect its sovereignty and security.

Bahrain

Bahrain strongly condemned the Iranian attacks on Jordan, expressing solidarity with the kingdom and calling on the UN Security Council to take firm measures to pressure Iran to halt attacks and help protect regional peace and security.
