‘Israeli’ police shoot, detain young man near Damascus Gate in Jerusalem

‘Israeli’ police said Friday they shot and “neutralized” a young man near Damascus Gate in Jerusalem’s Old City after suspecting he was attempting to carry out a stabbing attack targeting a police officer.

Local sources reported that 'Israeli' forces quickly closed the area around Damascus Gate and imposed a heavy security cordon, restricting the movement of residents and visitors in the Old City.

Additional police reinforcements were also deployed to the scene.
